The raven is one of the most mythical birds. It has long been considered an ominous bird and associated with death. In Nordic mythology, it was believed that the ravens Hugin and Munin sat on the shoulders of the god Odin and saw and heard everything. The raven is Dalsland's province animal

Doctor Carl Viktor Saedén, chief physician at the Kroppefjäll sanatorium, was not only a doctor but also an imaginative artist with a fascination for Swedish history. He created a peculiar environment around the sanatorium where he cared for lung disease patients at the beginning of the 20th century. In harmony with the magical nature, he had monuments and small facilities built in the spirit of Nordic mythology. At the beginning of the round is Vala's great harp. It was also called the Aeolian harp and consists of hanging logs tuned like a piano. When the forest was not so dense, the wind could play as the logs hit each other.
Billingsfors open-air theatre. The outdoor theater is nestled in lush greenery, behind the factory and the Billingsholm manor.The amphitheater was built in 1792 and is Sweden's oldest surviving theatre.
Principal Henriksson (1853–1935) was in his time one of the country's authorities on the subject of medicinal plants. He lived and worked in Dals Rostock at the end of the last century. He had large plantations of medicinal plants and wrote many books on the subject
Skållerud's church, Near lake Nären in Dalsland is one of Sweden's most beautiful churches - a red-painted wooden church with its oldest parts from the end of the 16th century
Petroglyphs. Högsbyn has Dalsland's largest rock carving area. More than 2,000 carved figures and signs have been found here. New discoveries are still being made.The largest number of carvings can be found along Ronarudden, a headland in lake Råvarp. Here the carvings are particularly deep and clear. This is also where the first carving was discovered almost 300 years ago, in 1718, by Lars Hesselgren.
The aqueduct in Håverud is completely unique in its kind. The aqueduct is a freely hanging bridge, where the water is led into a 33.5 meter long sheet trench above the rapids. The plates are joined with 33000 rivets. No rivets have yet to be replaced. The sight is a unique meeting between motorway, railway and waterway
Giant kettle. At Steneby church there is one of Dalsland's exciting tracks from the Ice Age. In the beautiful slope down towards Stenebyälven there are many giant potholes. Some are perfectly round and several meters deep. The largest is seven meters deep and is right down by the shore.
Dalsland's waterways. As a canoeist in Dalsland, you can experience the wild nature. Dalsland's lake system is unique in many ways, a huge lake system spreads out like a labyrinth, surrounded by magical forests. The water is as clear as the air.
Håvesten's burial ground can be found on Ättekullshögen in Håvesten. The burial field is dated to the Early Iron Age and consists of ten burial mounds, two long mounds, six round stone placements, a stone circle and three raised stones. The large stone circle consists of nine boulders and is 14 meters in diameter. One of the raised stones is called the Håve stone and is barely four meters high. The largest mound is 16 meters in diameter and 1.4 meters high.
Straw hat. The province’s crafts are best known for their "straw hats". This craft gained considerable scope due to the fashion of straw hats. When the craft was at its most extensive at the end of the 19th century, around 100,000 straw hats were produced annually.
The bell tower in Gunnarsnäs, completely clad in slate. In the belfry is a small bell from the 13th century, which escaped Gustav Vasa's fire assessment of the churches in the 1530s.
Oats. In 1865, oats accounted for 74% of Dalsland's grain production; 1880 and 1890 for 80%. Oats were a good crop for the new growers, easy to transport, surplus could be made into brandy and an international demand led to exports.
