This is the story about Elsa Beskow's Aunt Brown, Aunt Green and Aunt Lavender and their old friend Uncle Blue.
They are out on an eventful boat trip with the children Peter and Lotta.
The dog Dot is also present, the little cat at its milk barrel, the water lilies in the lake, the island with the white-stemmed birches and Aunt Brown’s picnic basket and coffeepot.
The skipper's parrot, Aunt Green's Pear, Aunt Lavender's embroidery table, the small houses in the city and the city's cobbled street.
