Matches The development of the phosphorus-free safety match that was invented by Gustaf Erik Pasch (1788-1862) and for which he received a Swedish patent in 1844 became a decisive factor in making Sweden a leading country in match production.
Linnea, blooms in June and July, and the plant is common throughout the country, except in the southernmost parts of Sweden. Linnea is Småland's province flower.
