The Ekshärad Cross. Ekshärad is a place in Värmland, known for its wooden church since the late 17th century and the cemetery with its 500 iron crosses. The Iron Crosses are designed as trees of life and have loosely hanging leaves as well as upright spikes where painted wooden eggs used to be attached at certain festivals. The crosses have a long tradition up to the present day. They were originally created by local village blacksmiths but are still manufactured by Stjärnsforssmedjan. A large part of Ekshärad's identity is in these iron crosses.The oldest cross is from the end of the 17th century from Nössemark.
S. Råda church, perhaps one of Sweden's best-preserved medieval timber churches, internally covered with paintings done in the 14th and 15th centuries. Alster manor is a manor building in Alster, Karlstad municipality in Värmland county. It is the birthplace of the poet Gustaf Fröding, who was born at the manor on 22 August 1860.

Selma Lagerlöf (1858-1940) is one of Sweden's most beloved and most well-known writers abroad. She received the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1909 and was elected to the Swedish Academy in 1914.
The wolf is a predator whose range extends over large parts of the world. The wolf is the largest wild canine animal and a fully grown wolf usually weighs 30 to 50 kg. The wolf is Värmland's province animal
Arctic starflower, the province flower of Värmland  is a flowering, small plant with one or more whorls of leaves on a single slender stem. It is about 10 cm high. The broad lanceolate leaves are pale green but take on a copper hue in late summer. The solitary white flowers (1–2 cm diameter, usually with 6–8 petals) are reminiscent of small wood anemones and appear in midsummer.
