Mistletoe is Västmanland's province flower. In Nordic mythology Balder was killed by an arrow made from a mistletoe.

Loka Brunn quickly became popular, especially among the Swedish royalty. King Adolf Fredrik documented in 1761 that he had his migraine cured at Loka Brunn. His son, Gustav III, enjoyed himself so well at Loka Brunn that he built his own house - the King's Building - which is still in use today. It was also Gustav III who planted the kitchen garden, where our chefs still harvest herbs today.

Järle station house, is Sweden's oldest preserved and operating station house. The station in Järle was built in 1854 and since April 2005 is a a listed building.
City Hall in Västerås, City Hall was built in stages between 1953 and 1988 according to drawings by city architect Sven Ahlbom. The stately building has façades of granite and facing the castle, facades of marble. The roof is covered with copper. The 65meter high city hall tower houses Sweden's largest carillon.
The flatrod system, Christoffer Polhem, who was also called "the father of Swedish mechanics" designed the the flatrod system for use in mines. The bar passage consists of three parts; a water wheel, a link system and a hook mechanism.
Anundshögen is considered Sweden's largest burial mound. It was built sometime between AD 500 and 1050, and forms together with the twin ships a magnificent monument unique to all of Sweden.
Ebba Brahe's gazebo. In an islet in the mill pond is a pink-painted and octagonal pavilion that bears Ebba Brahe's name. It is the country's oldest gazebo from1636.
Kopparberg's courthouse is a listed building in Kopparberg. The courthouse is located at Gruvstugesquare and has its origins in a mining cabin built in 1642, which also served as the first courthouse for the Ljusnarsberg district established in 1840.
